Moana Week – Performing In the Round! ![]()
In this camp we took on a huge challenge… staging our version of “You’re Welcome” in the round!
That means performing with the audience on every side — no hiding, no turning your back, and loads of movement to keep everyone engaged. It’s one of the trickiest styles of theatre… and our young actors have absolutely embraced it and are so excited to perform thier showcase on Saturday.
All the children were amazing at learning how to stay open to the whole space, use their bodies to tell the story, and keep that energy flowing in every direction. It’s was a joy watching them grow more confident and creative throughout the week.
Not only that we included some Moana themed crafts – making sails, creating various items with clay.
All in all a great week enjoyed by all, and a fantastic showcase to finish.
“Tatou te mitamita.”
Tatou = we/all of us; te mitamita = are proud.
You’re welcome
